As an Agency Manager, it is my pleasure to offer many individuals the opportunity to become a career agent with the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies of Michigan. We are strong, financially-stable companies serving Michigan, with combined assets of $1.5 billion and some 400 agents located throughout the state. I began my career with Farm Bureau Insurance in 1971, and was appointed Agency Manager in 1973. I am responsible for 22 agents serving Saginaw, Bay, and Arenac counties. A strong believer in continuing education, I earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1973, and the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation in 1977. These prestigious professional designations were followed in 1990 by the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation, and in 1993 I was named "Fellow" by the Life Underwriter Training Council (LUTCF). Our agency has often been recognized for its quality production and has been the recipient of many awards. I have received the Companies' highest honor, the Distinguished Manager Award, four times -- the only agency manager ever to have gained this recognition. In addition to a variety of church and community activities, I also speak frequently to groups about Living Trusts, Long-Term health care, and the concepts of estate preservation.
