Programmer/Analyst Senior Data Analyst Position Title: Programmer/Analyst Location: Lansing Posting Number: 767 Date Posted: January 6, 2010 Essential Functions: Provide programming and analysis for the applications supported by the Web and Agency Systems section. Provide leadership and/or serve as a team member on projects. Research, analyze, prototype, program and test software applications for intranet applications using Java, HTML, Javascript and Websphere. Provide on-call support for Web and Agency Systems. Required Qualifications: Two years programming and/or systems analysis background. Current knowledge of Java, AJAX, JSP, Crystal Reports, Javascript, Websphere, and Rational Application Developer. Experience with testing techniques and tools, program specification and interpretation, and business experience in systems design and analysis tools and techniques. Must be able to take calls and complete work outside of standard working hours. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to communicate verbally and in written form in a clear and concise manner. Willingness to participate in systems and insurance training classes. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems or data processing preferred. Experience with C# and .Net technologies. Position Title: Senior Data Analyst Location: Lansing Posting Number: 770 Date Posted: February 4, 2010 Essential Functions: Assist with the development and implementation of documented standards, division practices and departmental guidelines relating to data quality, data management, data analysis, systems development, program/projects documentation, data integration, coding practices and implementation procedures. Oversee data quality standards and governance by serving on both Data Quality (DQ)-oriented projects as well as reviewing and providing oversight for key milestones in application development projects. This may include data modeling, integration design, and Master Data Management (MDM). Participate as a team member and/or lead small to mid-sized projects. Be available to take calls outside of standard working hours. Diagnose and resolve problems in both a reactive and proactive mode. Provide leadership for efforts to migrate existing solutions onto more current platforms, primarily data movement applications (extract, transform, and load (ETL)). Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems with emphasis in databases, or data processing. Current knowledge of data quality tools, processes, and direction. Familiar with Source Code Management (SCM) and Life Cycle Management (LCM) best practices. Demonstrated success in delivering data-driven solutions that meet business requirements. Ability to communicate verbally and in written form in a clear and concise manner. Willingness to participate in systems and insurance training classes. Ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff and work independently with minimum supervision. Preferred Qualifications: Four to seven years experience as a data analyst or equivalent position. Experience with Trillium data quality tools. Experience at Farm Bureau or within insurance industry.
