Senior Claims Representative Position Title: Senior Claims Representative Location: Grand Rapids Posting Number: 955 Date Posted: August 18, 2010 Essential Functions: Under minimal supervision, investigate, evaluate and settle property claims. Make contact with insureds and guide them through the claims process, working towards amicable settlement. Maintain working knowledge of company contracts. Determine existence of coverage and perform necessary investigations as directed. Establish proper reserves, maintain timely contacts and work with all levels of company personnel. Required Qualifications: Must possess a valid automobile operator’s license with an acceptable driving record. Minimum of three years experience in claims field work. Two parts of the Associates in Claims designation. Must be able to lift minimum of 30 pounds. Must be capable of climbing stairs, ladders or otherwise moving around property to inspect damages. Must possess good computer skills, organizational skills, negotiating skills, and oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with public and deal with adversity. Must reside in or near a county handled by the Grand Rapids Branch Claims office or be willing to relocate. Must possess outstanding customer service skills and access to high speed Internet. Preferred Qualifications: College education desirable. Hours: Monday through Friday. Minimum 40 hours per week. Some evening appointments. Travel in and out of the state of Michigan, and stay overnight in a motel or hotel. |
